Being promoted to Director of Sales Development at my current company. Based in Toronto.

My base is being bumped from 110 to 125, and OTE for another 50 up from 35 CAD.

I personally know a few SDR managers that make more. Am I being lowballed? I don’t want to come off as sounding ungrateful for the promotion.

Returned from maternity leave, I was offered a Revenue Operations Project Manager. I was given a 4% raise (next to nothing), I was asked to sign the paperwork upon my return which was strange. On day 1, got to know almost 4% raise was given to the entire company as compensation adjustment due to inflammation. The manager left the company within 4 days of my joining and now I’m stuck with the sad pay and a hefty job. Not sure what I should be doing?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. Hi recently I was interviewing few candidate for ML engineer and business analyst profile.
Got few candidate (total 6) schedule for that role on lever.
Took interview of 2 of them on day 1 and rest 4 on day 2.
4 out of 6 were from Mindtree.
And none of them were actually the one which they portrayed on resume.
They were liers, they don't even know basic sql, python forget about stats.
Have anyone recently faced the similar situation with Mindtree people ?

Hypo: client says they agreed to use a prior agreement another firm drafted as precedent for a new deal prior to engaging you. It’s maybe the most poorly written contact you’ve ever seen. Most material terms are arguably there, but it’s convoluted and you’d be embarrassed to put your name on it. There’s clearly a better way to draft it. Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. If your goal is to be as high ranking of an in house counsel position as possible, how would you structure your career progression? Is it better to stay in big law as long as possible and then transition as a partner, or is it more valuable to get relevant experience by going in house as a mid level/senior associate? Practice area is IP: working in patent pros, litigation, and tech transactional to varying degrees if that affects the answer.

I hate Kirkland for what they did to me. Got laid off due to intra-firm-politics at a point in my career where I don’t have enough experience to lateral, when the market is so bad for corp/M&A that even with experience getting hired isn’t likely with a Kirkland stain on the resume, during the holidays when getting interviews or even screeners is just as unlikely, and all of this without any warning at all. Recruiters can’t or aren’t helping. I don’t know what to do, but this is a nightmare

Just did the Vault survey. Everyone on the Milbank scale got a 10. Everyone else got a 1 through 4. DPW got a 1.

There were substantial layoffs at firm and management has denied, saying they were performance related (mostly bullshit). They have not ruled out [further] layoffs in the future.

I don’t want to lose my job, and it would absolutely suck. But I almost feel numb and hard to even get too worked up over the prospect given how emotionally exhausting this year has been. Maybe bcz I feel somewhat safe, but I feel like if it happens, it does, and I’ll find a way to recover/move on.

Anyone at Greenberg actually like their jobs? What has your experience been?

How many matters is typical for one associate to handle (BL lit)? I know it is group-specific, but just trying to get a general idea. I’m a 2nd year and I am the only associate staffed on about 30 cases-meaning I keep track of all deadlines, do all day to day assignments, keep on top of following up with client/OC, and all research/drafting. Partners handle deps/court but that is about it. Is this a normal case load to be responsible for as a jr? I being dramatic by thinking this is too much?
