With 25 yoe you are probably over 45 and out of run way for partner track (mandatory retirement at 60) Take the md offer. Also with no b4 or consulting experience you probably also have never carried a sales quota - this is is why most industry folks are brought in as MD.

Interesting journey OP. Based upon your current responsibilities and accomplishments, you should shoot for direct admit Partnership instead of MD. If you decide to go MD route, double check if Deloitte policy will allow you to try for Partnership in near future.
Right 🦄✨⭐️🧞♂️
I didn’t mean to be funny, but it will be great if you can please enlighten me and the community on how this works. Haven’t worked for a big 4, most of my exp is with large tech and I have had decent career progression. This is a serious question so appreciate feedback from you and other.
If you have 25 years experience, you are probably too old for partner for it to be really profitable for you. I made P at 13 years, for reference. If you like the MD offer then take it but without expectation for P. And agree with the sales quota comment because that can be brutal, so I would just take that into account as well.
True that MDs can make $1M+ and have access to the majority of the same opportunities and Ps.
OP - that’s right. And same at PwC. I don’t know about other B4. Non-consultant direct admits come in as MDs, with market comp, which can be very high. If they succeed after a few years they are admitted into the partnership. Easier that way. Don’t sweat the title difference.
Was my experience as well left D in 2011 and primary reason was because it was so rare to go em MD to Principal. I joined as a DEMD but didn’t realize that it It really was a separate path. And yes I think theoretically MDs at the B4s can approach the $1M number. But I would submit that is not common.
D used to pay 🥜 to MDs, lost a bunch of them, and redid the MD comp structure. They do make a lot.
