Hello everyone. I’m going through a rough patch. I’ve been in this line of work for many many years, and I am finding very difficult to stay focused and motivated. I am doing the best I can to be disciplined, avoid procrastination and distractions, and stay focused on my work, but I don’t have the drive anymore. I’m a bit over 50 and I am very afraid of my professional future. I feel like I’m squeezing the last drops of my creative energy for this business, but I need to find a way out. Help.

Hello, I am a Linux system engineer and have been working in Oracle engineered systems from past 10 years. I got some exposure to oracle cloud but it is so difficult to get more exposure in oracle projects to build knowledge and my experience. In the Job portals , its so rare recruiters asking for oracle cloud. Looks like canada do not have much oracle projects. Hence I learned AWS. Want to make use of my knowledge but how?B4 Advisory teams do not have good oracle practice. Agree?

I have only 6 months of experience working in tcs. And I have total of 7 years of total working experience. I'm really interested to work in tcs but not in my current project. I asked for release and they are not ready as they asked me to work for atleast 5 years in this project. So I'm planning to switch to another company. If I get an offer, will tcs consider my problem by changing the project and match my offered salary?

I just had an employee tell me they are on the verge of quitting due to burnout- actually going to quit but was told to talk to HR for options (we don't have any in place). The manager wants to keep them as they are one of our best employees.

Dad had to get emergency open heart surgery over the weekend. Now me and my family are preparing to help him recover and determine what those next steps are.

While all that is happening, we’re working on a huge initiative at the agency and our client has been super anxious about it. That anxiety is coming down stream so I’m trying to do my best as the PM to alleviate the team’s concerns.

And today, I found out I got a raise.

It’s too much going on the last few days.

Anyone else feel like they don’t know if it’s them or their job that is actually contributing to your mental health struggles? I go back and forth between blaming myself or blaming my workload.

I enjoy what I do but It’s ultimately not good for my anxiety. Making good work at a competitive agency seems to come at the cost of my mental health.

Job technically allows for WFH - take about one a month because of debillitating anxiety and depression flare ups. I actually work too - I just can’t be around people.

Therapy’s too expensive, I’ve been sleeping way too much again (12 hours +) and still waking up tired while having no appetite to the point I’m losing too much weight. I know this isn’t right but I don’t know how to pick myself up.

My parents got incredibly angry and threatened to “end up in the hospital” and “disown” me after I told them I want to marry my partner, who comes from a different religion. My partner is amazing and I can’t imagine loving anyone this deeply, and feeling so safe with them. But I also love my parents and they’ve done so much for me. I don’t know how to cope with this.
