Hello my consulting friends. I’ve a final round at EY parthenon SSG group this week. They told me it will be a fit, technical and presentation interview. Could any of you help add a little color to what the interviews would look like. I’m not a very technical person so that “technical” round is giving me a little anxiety. I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. He’s leaning transactional, but also open to litigation. Any insights/advice on these firms in the TX market? Any to avoid?

Yesterday I attended MS hackerrank test and was able to solve some Java based MCQ and one sql query correctly but not able to execute a code with any passed test case so should I expect a call from a recruiter for an interview?

Has anyone ever posted a general marketing position? We have an open position on our marketing team but we are unsure what type of position to offer. How much time EY can take to release an offer to the candidate, after verbal negotiation is settled with HR?

If my boss asks me for a straight forward task, I complete that task and always try to go above and beyond by adding in additional analysis, etc. it usually takes me an extra hour.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

Anyone made a move from US to Canada? What’s your experience in Canada been like? Do you think it was a good move considering a significant pay cut in most cases?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Has anyone moved states and changed their home office / region? (Personal choice not project driven)....If so, what's the process? What approvals are needed?
