Hi everyone! I’ve got 6 years as a PM at Amazon across Prime and Prime video in London (3 years of that as a senior PM - L6). Got cut in the last round of layoffs and taking as an opportunity to move to Sydney - any recruiters for tech in Sydney willing to offer some tips?

I was laid off from Deloitte in the 18th. I have an interview with Amazon for a Senior Program Managers Non Technical position with Amazon hiring manager on Monday. Any advice would be much appreciated. I would love to get into Amazon. I hear their interview process is brutal.

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

The week of my wedding, my husband (PL SQL Developer 4 yoe) was laid off. That was a couple of weeks ago. I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. I have an offer with a company and joining is 27th of Jun. I got offer from JP Morgan on 20th and they have given joining 4th of July. I am planning to join in JP Morgan. If left my previous offer, i will have only JP Morgan. Will I have any risk to keep JP Morgan offer alone? Once we get offer from JP Morgan, is ther any chance of cancel the offer? I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. My only concern is, just yesterday I had a tough feedback session with my manager around how I’m taking too long to complete my work, giving them anxiety around close deadlines. At the time I was offered the position my main concern was lack of guidance/support from leadership.
