Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I‘ve currently got 5 years sales experience (sales advisor, sales specialist and currently SDR). I’m looking to stay in my SDR role for a year and then venture out. The companies I’ve worked for have been in the telecommunications and now fintech industry. What is the trajectory for sales role post sales manager or what are other career avenues I could explore with my sales experience.

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!
