Anyone else have a lingering fear that they could be fired at any moment? I’ve received great performance reviews and my partner says I’m doing very well, but I don’t vibe with my colleagues as well as it seems others do.
If a former manager never fought for you or bothered to reach out when you got laid off and then creeps your LinkedIn every so often is it worth keeping them as a contact, or remove them?
Interesting news from our Consultant Cousins.... Fired Deloitte employee sentenced in attempted murder of ex-boss: http://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/community/northeast-tarrant/article149830554.html
I was laid off because they didn’t have enough work for me (despite assurances that it was all fine, no plans for layoffs etc). Since found a new job and it’s been slow, and my requests for work seem to be going into the ether. I know rationally it’s too soon to panic but I can’t get past that anxiety of being laid off again due to lack of work. Anyone been through this? How do you get your confidence back? (My work is my life. I don’t have much non-work stuff to focus on, which doesn’t help.)
5300 Wells Fargo employees fired for creating millions of phony accounts. Proud day at WF 🙄
My best friend found out they’re getting laid off, and I’m not sure how to comfort them sans alcohol...they’ve kind of locked themselves away and my heart is breaking for them, I just want to help 😞
Why does PwC need layoffs again if the business is doing well? Also, curious to know what are the other “business reasons” when your util and snapshots are great?
Layoffs at Mullen BOS?
Any insights on CP+B Boulder? Are layoffs still rampant/has Bogusky’s return changed anything for the better?
I understand insurance ends when u quit your job or get laid off. Do you have to buy insurance for yourself afterward? What’s the best insurance in the market ?
Since graduating college 4.5 years ago I’ve worked at three marketing agencies averaging a year and two months at each. I took four months off earlier this year after a layoff to study data science. I’m now back in digital marketing on month six of my current job. How long should I stay at my current company? I’ve been told two years minimum which is unfortunate because if I leave in six months I’ll make a lot more money on the market.
Would really like to know what's going wrong at PwC. Can someone please explain the root cause of unhappy employees, layoffs and steamroll culture?
What does the KPMG severance look like?
Fucking blew my mind in Ibiza. Back to work now, but can't process shit. How do I gain back my brain cells before getting fired? 😂😂😂
Work has slowed down a lot but this month is the worst I have only been able to Bill 50 hours. Everytime I ask for more work it’s not given to me or it’s one assignment. Should I be worried I’m getting fired ?
Any of you have side hustles - and how do u manage it? I’m PT running a not so demanding business & also trying to become a DJ Obv not gonna do consulting in the LT but dun wanna get fired now either
Massive layoff at Crispin CPB LA just let go of everyone but about a dozen people. It’s pretty much closed.
If you haven't had your CRT yet because your RP is MIA (which isn't out of the ordinary), should you be concerned about layoffs?
Sooo no word from my counselor pretty much means no promotion from SC2-M, and I'm fired, right?
If you’re at risk of getting laid off, who usually sets up the call? How does the process go?
Does this transition back to work get any easier? I miss my kid so much when he is at daycare. I feel constant guilt. But I love my job and want to progress. I feel this is such a minefield of emotions and I'm lost. I'm only 2 weeks in :( is there some working mom motivational book or study I can read to lift my spirits?
Grabbing dinner with a former classmate who works at McK and she says $50 dinner expense limit, WTF...is that real??????!
Moms of more than one kid: have you been able to continue your career with the same trajectory as other women who are not moms? Am very worried about essentially falling off of the map completely. Tips?
Hi All - Associate Partner / Principal at MBB. Deciding whether to play out rest of my consulting career (whether a few years or longer) in US vs. UK. US obviously pays better, but largely a wash factoring for exchange rate / cost of living. Wondering if spending next 2-5 years in UK would impact comp/ exit ops for exit to US? E.g. lower comp/ perceptions of smaller market experience. Appreciate it!
putting in two weeks notice soon and nervous they'll ask me to stay longer. can you negotiate extensions past two weeks to request additional compensation or would that totally burn the bridge
Has anybody changed locations from SF or NY to a Lower COL city like Chicago during COVID (specifically in tech) and had their salary adjusted down? If so, how much was the decrease?
Don't you love it when you work for a sick firm and then you find out that Jon Snow dies AGAIN in season 7. Btw spoiler alert! But shit man. Read the books, he dies again for good. Work sucks. Ahhhhh
What is the general comp structure like at ACN for MC for the following levels (Tier 1 city) -SA -C1 -C2 -C3 -M1 -M2 -M3 -SM
I wanted to know in reality how much does a partner lets say advisory makes on an average other than fixed salary?
Two job opps at the moment. One I love the culture. Decent brand name (could do better) but absolutely loved everyone I interviewed with. The other is the best brand name in the business, but working somewhat busy season hours (not fully busy season hours like 80-90 a week but like 65) and okay with the culture. Basically don’t hate it don’t love it. Will very much accelerate my career way more than option 1. Thoughts?
Best luggage for travel? Just got consulting job at MBB and looking to buy some new stuff.
Hi there! I’m being vetted for a position that I’d have to relocate for, they mentioned they’d pay for relocation. This would be my first role in senior leadership, and I’m just looking for tips on negotiating pay and other components of my offer letter. I’ve previously had an issue where I was brought in way under value, and it took 2 years to get a benchmarking raise. I just want to position myself highly upfront this time. Any ideas other than base pay I could and should negotiate? Thanks!
Would you accept capping billable hours at 40/week in exchange for being able to work while completely remote?
