Anyone that has utilization issues because of the quality of their work should be aware that they are subject to termination with cause. It also depends on whether this is a pervasive and continuing issue or isolated and part of just being a new staff.
Generally your manager/pml/equivalent will communicate do betters to you and give you time to improve before it is formally documented. Then, if you are still struggling there will be a formal process that still gives you a set amount of time to improve or to look for a new job.
I would say if they can tell you are trying your leash will be longer and they may be willing to put you on jobs that might better for your skill set.
