Back in 2020 when I was interviewing I had at least 5 interviews a week (1st , 2nd or w/e stage follow-up meetings)
Now… I get lucky if I at least get 1 or 2 a week but there’s plenty of weeks I get mostly rejection emails. And that’s with 6 years of tech sales experience
Just gotta remain positive
I’m sorry to hear that. I had an interview on Monday that got canceled because they had just extended and offer to someone so they are halting the interview process until end of February. We could’ve easily rescheduled but she didn’t want to. I smell bullshit and I feel they’ll just come back to me and tell me they don’t have a need anymore. It’s a startup and only nothing is certain until you have an offer
The job market is not great but I highly encourage you to keep applying. Layoffs happened at my company about 3 weeks ago and I was freaking out. I started applying to jobs from 9AM-4PM, I was treating it like a job. So far I’ve had about 6-8 interviews a week and have been offered two roles already! Keep pushing forward, you got this
I’ve looked at mostly LinkedIn, Indeed, Otta, looked up articles of companies hiring in my industry and applied through company websites. I would also suggest following a couple of recruiters on LinkedIn, they post jobs almost daily!
Since November I had applied to over 200 jobs. I got denied with the standard email by 140 of them. Had a total of 8 interviews, and got 1 job. Some of those jobs were exactly what I was doing, but didn't get even a HR screening. I was contacted by recruiters stating my resume was exceptional and that I was a strong candidate. It is very rough out there right now, and yes AI does screen your resume for key words.
Bad enough to not want to quit my current job even though I've been trying to avoid this particular role for a while now but it's what I have the most experience in. I guess trades are going to be in and white collar work is going to be automated out
I would also suggest looking for jobs through Otta, that really helped me with my job search
Pretty bad get more no think you emails than interviews at times even when a recruiter asked me to apply
I’m mentally checked out at my current job and I’m looking elsewhere and I’m just shocked to see how things have changed 8 years ago. I’m trying to apply but most jobs don’t get back to me so far 9 rejections out of 90 applications. No interviews yet.
It depends on the industry. But yeah for tech, it's not great right now. Not sure about AI, but that might be an improvement on current ATS options
The job market in tech is bad. The job market in Manufacturing is not so bad. This gives some perspective
This is informative and for real.
It's BAD. My resume looks the best it has in my entire career and I've been looking for a new sales position for seven months now.
