*How do I get recognized by corporate for basically being HM without the pay*
Brand new GP; everyone started 1 mo ago. Some came from ER, Spay/Neuter, & GP. Lead DVM asked why I wasn't following the HMs lead (ie:sitting & talking, gone for hours, not cleaning, etc.) But instead doing what i'm expected to & more (ie: cleaning, staying late, working 6 / 7 days each week, posting social media, making a schedule, training, saving logins, problem solving,etc.) without help from teammates.

Anyone witness slackers who got into companies you have no idea how? Had a coworker who does jack chit at work besides chatting on Facebook yet lands at a faang company? I guess if he brings the same work ethic he will be spit out for sure. Or maybe he just had no interest in doing project work.

Ok so if I use the Snapchat makeup filter on my zoom call is it super obvious/ look silly? I'm taking about that really subtle one that clears your face up and adds subtle "eyeliner". Do you know what I'm talking about? I don't want to put makeup on for calls but I look washed out without it lol.

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?

My was mom grumbling while working on a flier for her non-profit job. I asked if she was ok. She angrily told me her boss had went into the file, redone her entire concept, and added more words. So I told her what I tell myself, “There’s always another way to say something.” I also said that my bosses change my work, too. Me: I don’t want us to have a confrontational relationship and I think we can agree something needs to change. When you make stupid decisions, that affects my business and it makes me feel like you’re not up to the job. That makes it harder for my team to do our jobs. I think to be an authentic leader I need to be radically candid with you and point our your mistakes. So are you willing to work with me on this?

15 YOE, recently started my first tech PR job at a large, stable company & have been asked to get ~20 SMEs in front of media. Subject matter is not sexy. I lead PR for all of U.S. & have no other PR colleagues. My agency’s budget is 100k/year & they’re spread too thin to hit their KPIs. I feel set up to fail & feel we should be focusing on a handful of SMEs and only our sexiest topics. Any advice on mitigating unrealistic expectations for coverage? No one has an office, much less an assistant. Creative and account are different jobs with their own dress codes. But dumb, off brief ideas by white creatives do win.

Are you responsible for giving performance feedback? Avoid giving personality based feedback. Examples include telling an Asian person they are too quiet/shy or telling a Black person they are agressive/abrasive. DO NOT DO THIS. It clearly represents bias in Performance Management. Performance feedback should be tied to business outcomes with clear examples of what the person does well + how they can improve.

Hi everyone, I’m seeking some advice - my dog (8yrs old) was attacked several months ago by another dog and after she became depressed and anxious. We got her anti depression meds and those seemed to help but how a lot now a lot of signs are pointing to a potential brain tumor. To get an MRI is +1k.
