How hard is it to switch between practices with Accenture? Also will moving to a non b4 look bad on my resume if they give me a huge raise / bonus?

Accenture is a great name on the resume...

I get hit up by recruiters all the time - just had someone from MBB reach out the other day. While I agree that might not be the norm depending on which practice you're aligned to and whether you specifically stand out, I think Accenture's a very solid name to have on your resume.
My experience with switching practices is that it's hit or miss - dependent on a ton of things: whether the practice you're looking at really needs people, MD support, how competitive the practice itself is, etc. I would advise you not to come in with the expectation that you'll be able to easily switch to another practice, tho as A1 said it is possible

like

Hey OP - I would say this - I wouldn’t come over to Accenture unless you were actually coming into the company with a pretty clear idea of what practice you will be aligning to. Try and come in to the practice you want first, because I have been trying to move internally but there is just not enough work, so actually thinking about going to Deloitte just so I can work on what I want!

like

“Look Bad” nonb4? Ok, I know ACN is no MBB but it doesn’t fall behind big 4 at all so no idea what you are talking about as if you higher tier, 😂

like

^^^I'd be doing the same thing I'm currently doing but I'm interested in stretch work outside of that group to build my skill set.

like

It’s not easy to switch once you start working in an area here for 6 months or more. But it’s certainly possible.

^^^so you're saying that it's easier to switch within your first six months

I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?

Just wanted to know what others’ experiences have been like.

Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. Later I found out she had tried for the exec assistant role and they didn’t choose her, they wanted me instead.

Just found out that my favorite aunt, who claimed I was her “favorite” niece, chose to leave all her valuables to her other two nieces who never visited or called her once in the last ten years. My aunt passed away suffering from cancer last year and didn’t have her own kids. I was there by her side throughout her battle. I still wish I had done more, made her life easier. I probably sound petty, but a part of me is forcing me to re-evaluate every interaction I ever had with her.

Copywriter with serious imposter syndrome at new job! How do senior writers up their game? Was in-house 1.5 years and underpaid in NYC. With only previous freelance experience (and nonprofit and grant writing before that) figured I had to slog through it for years. Cut to now, 6 months into a new copywriting role at huge tech company. My salary almost quintupled overnight. I think I’m doing great, but that depends on the day and who I work with (no other writers by the way).
