How many months will your emergency find last you?
Was chatting with younger peers and was surprised and a little worried about how little they keep in savings.

About 4 months. I wish I could save up more so I could feel a bit more secure, but with a new house and two kids, it's been an expensive last year. Hoping it'll be a little easier moving forward.

I don't have nearly enough. I finally got it to a point where I felt comfortable and then ended up with a $14,000 vet bill. My dog is fine thank God, but I'm broke again.

What savings you do have put it in a high yield savings acct. ally or capitol one. Wish I woulda known sooner

I think my emergency fund would last me about 3 months to be honest. It would severely stress me out if I had next to nothing in my savings, but it's feasible for some people!

9-12 months. Only cause I’ve been laid off before and know it could take that long to get another job in the ad industry.

After a layoff, with unemployment for two years for 6 months, I am able to last 2 years without any additional spending. I am 12 months in tho the 24 month budget

Is it too late in our lives to jump into a mortgage?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.

Hey, new to investing looking at initial mistakes I made. I have $1k in VOO, $7k in VT and $4k in VTI in my brokerage acct; in my Roth IRA I have $6k in VT and $7.7k in VTI. I know isn’t an ideal portfolio because many of these funds overlap. However I’m in for the long term and am willing to reposition to a strategy that will do the best over my life. Id appreciate to hear feedback on these 2 accounts and better approaches from others. Thanks!

I would like to hit fire between 40-50. Currently 27, 185k total comp (125 for me and 60 for partner). Like my job don’t hate it don’t love it. Does an MBA make sense? I’m guessing it could take me to 170ish with that schools I’m looking at but wondering if the 40-50 retirement range makes an mba not make sense since I’d only have 10-20 years to save vs 12-22.

Would have to finance the whole thing myself. Current net worth is 140k. Thoughts?

I work for a small agency and manage our internal marketing acct. We had very few processes in place when I started. I’ve since created, implemented, and trained our dept. on project mgmt for clients and am trying to convince the owner to apply those principles to our internal jobs. They are resistant because they just want the work to be done and don’t “want to keep spending money on internal jobs”. I’m confused because we’re doing the work either way and “spending” in labor/resources.
