How do I pivot from a broker to any job in tech?
I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Rising Star
I take every bit and try to take even more.
All of it! I am a supervisor, and I make all my employees use every bit of it, not worth losing it. Work/life balance. Life is far more important than work!
All of it and I buy more if the company offers it. Take your time off
Is this a serious question? You take all of it. Period. If you don’t take all of it you are robbing yourself of your own pay. Block the time off at the beginning of the year so you make sure you take the time.
I never have enough
All of it, every year.
Same!
All of it every single year. Even if I do not travel. I am taking off, including mental health days.
Take it all!
I take some. But also stock it up. I have around 260 PTO hours
All of it. It’s part of your compensation, so…if you don’t take it and it goes away…the company at least owes you money for it
My company has unlimited PTO, very grateful.
I take every single PTO that I possibly can. It’s negotiated as part of your compensation, so leaving any on the table is robbing yourself of your own pay. The only time I leave any leftover is if I’m banking it for the following year because I know I’m going on an extended vacation.
Every bit of it!
All of it!!! I accrued it and will use it.
When I was on a system that you could bank I probably took close to 3 to 4 weeks every year. But then they changed things to where you could no longer Bank it’s user lose so it’s probably somewhere around the same 3 1/2 to 4 weeks and I use every second of it.
I used to save as much as possible & was worried I wouldn't be able to take the 280 hours before the end of the year. Starting this year we could only carry over 80 at the end.
But I have been outsourced so that lump PTO check was nice. Heavily taxed, but nice.
I try to be mindful of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. In our field, it’s easy to let PTO accumulate—especially when you're deep into files or trying to stay ahead. I know some adjusters are compensated based on production, so if you're not taking time off, at least there's financial reward. That said, if there’s a buyback option, I’d recommend selling off what you don’t use.
Still, it’s important to be cautious of burnout. Even a few days away from the screen can help reset your energy and perspective. A little rest goes a long way for both your health and your overall effectiveness on the job.
Time away from work is so important. I won't consider any opportunity unless there is ample time off. PTO, VTO. Being in Medicare and sales in general, we are so used to pushing ourselves to the brink during busy seasons. Work hard and play even harder. We are alive to LIVE! Not just work. :) Take your time away. Enjoy your work and enjoy your life even more. :)
ALL of it. Every last hour. For those of you who don't use your PTO do you not have any hobbies or interests outside of work?? Work already takes up toi much of my life, my PTO is so precious
All of it.
