They also said it will be reassessed annually lol. Smart spin on essentially saying they’re primarily virtual until next summer
Ya, it's not exactly revolutionary lol
The big difference is that staff that opt into this arrangement also won’t go to client sites either. We’ll see how it actually works in reality since people need to opt in, get approval, see how clients react to mixed on-site/remote teams etc…so agree that it’s a mixed bag. Could be a huge change for some folks, but it’s not like the entire firm is suddenly 100% remote.
Just further underscores the fact that these people have been deeply programmed to simply crave that others obey the same masters they do
The Legacy Parthenon group was always in office tho… and I never want to go back to it

Been with KPMG Advisory 10 years. The only time I have been "required" to go to my home office was when I was on a project for 2 weeks in my hometown. Aside from that, all trips to the home office were strictly voluntary and most were for social events.

The thing that *is* a big deal is letting them live where they want. Nobody else does this, everybody else insists on paying people to live in high-cost areas they don’t want to live in, rather than paying them less to live where they actually want. We’re all remote anyway, what’s the difference? It would cost them less to give us the choice and yet they choose not to.
And it looks like employee pay could go down if they choose to work from home and live in lower cost city.

Obviously. As well it should. It’s only fair.
Right now though, we don’t have a choice. They pay more, to make us live in a place we don’t want to live. They could choose to pay less to enable us to live in a place we do want to live. It would be cheaper for them and more beneficial for us.
