I feel like supply chain is so wide - and it depends on the industry as well. Like supply chain in banking and insurance is so different from supply chain in FMCG or energy industry, and most folks still thinks it’s just warehousing (not that warehousing is bad but they just have this idea it’s just that).
What is the best industry for SCM. I’d like to pivot into oil and gas industry in supply chain or procurement but don’t come from an engineering background. Any advise?

I’m in supply chain for the O&G industry and don’t have an engineering background. We do work closely with engineering though. I deal with commercial, contract, logistics and planning aspects of the role and have dedicated engineering teams to assist depending on the scope.

like

Can you expand on your background, YOE, and how someone from FMCG can get into O&G. Also do you like it and is there growth

P.S. I know there’s a typo in my name but fishbowl won’t approve the change yet lol

I'm in salary negotiations for a great role, but there's a small gap (~$10k) to even match my old salary. They have most of the obvious benefits like unlim. vacation, low healthcare premiums, 401k matching, permanent WFH, etc.

Right now, severance pkg. and a more senior title are most important. Has anyone negotiated a title bump? Outcome?

Are there additional benefits I should also consider?

Solid tips or strategies on cutting back on alcohol? My bf & I were moderate drinkers before the pandemic, but over the year I’m fairly confident we’ve become heavy drinkers (6-7days/wk). I’m stressed about it and have mentioned cutting back for a while, but he insists we’re fine. I find it rly difficult to go cold turkey or cut by myself when he’s still drinking as “normal” and we share our living space. We’re aware of all the health risks, but that alone hasn’t changed us. All advice welcome!

Offer 2: material distribution manager for an industrial equipment manufacturer. Again, only want input on future opportunities that each might provide. Thanks!

I understand why so many cities are trying to limit cars and make their neighborhoods more "walkable," but it really complicates deliveries. No parking spot? Then I can't really make a delivery. Has anyone here ever gotten a ticket for not being in a parking spot while making a delivery?
