I feel so trapped I want to scream. Fiancé’s been unemployed for a year. He’s a creative, we’re in a small ad market and he’s been rejected from almost every shop. Pre-covid I wanted to leave my job, but we need insurance. I’m unhappy because I used to do strategy, but now am a glorified assistant. I have nothing to show for the past 4 years so interviews just suck. We can’t afford a house, wedding is on perma hold, and I’ve got maybe five kid bearing years left. I thought my life would better.

I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?

I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 5 years of experience in an acute care setting. I, also, have a bachelor’s in healthcare administration. I use EPIC at work everyday and I am interested in working as an EPIC analyst. I have applied at my facility numerous times for these positions with no luck. What advice would you all give for getting into this position? Also, do you know any remote positions available that I could apply to outside of the facility I’m currently at? Thanks!

It has been almost 2 weeks since I joined KPMG Global Services, but I have not been assigned any project yet. They are telling again there will be client interviews. What the hell is this? I mean I just cracked the interview to join KGS. And now again why do I need to attend interview? Exhausted by entitled clients that are just plain nasty. Is it just me or are clients everywhere getting more demanding and treating their agencies worse?

My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. Felt so on edge and low on emotional resources for over a week that I wasn’t myself and apparently really rubbed a few people the wrong way so I was called in for a talking to 😣. I let people know there were some personal things going on, but didn’t mention the PTSD—very unsure if that’s something to share, or if I’d be judged for it or... I don’t even know. Has anyone else dealt with PTSD and had it impact them at work, and how did you handle it?
