Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

B. Just have a learning attitude, read, listen, be curious. That being said, if you want to move into a leadership role, look into any opportunities you might have to get your employer to pay for a degree. And then look into flexible online programs with a goal of 4-6 year completion.
Thank you, that's super helpful! Do you think a degree is absolutely necessary to advance into leadership opportunities? I'll have to consider that...
Definitely imposter syndrome. No matter how deafening, you need to trust that you are where you are for a reason. No one gets anywhere by literally doing NOTHING. You got this.
The latter. It can be helpful to share what you’re feeling with trusted friends or mentors. People who have more experience can reassure you that what you’re feeling is normal, and knowing others have been in your position can make it seem less scary.
Imposter syndrome. Most people experience moments of doubt, and that’s normal. The important part is not to let that doubt control your actions.
I can understand it, and it's natural but at the same time - it's just one aspect of you, not all of you. All that matters is having a curious mind, being able to respond and be resilient when needed

Outperform them. Know more executive prospects in your industry than anybody. Go to industry events and speak. Hold networking events amongst other salespeople in your industry and help them succeed. Be a leader. Don't worry about levels of education.
Thank you! This is encouraging advice. :)
Some of the best salespeople I have hired do not have degrees. Results speak for themselves.
