Dang. URI just beat Okla. 😭😭
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

These comments are savage, but I agree with the premise. You got laid off and found a new job, your manager and senior manager definitely contributed thoughts so just move on.
I find it odd how everyone is so confident that manager and SM provided thoughts. This was a 25% headcount reduction per OP. My experience is that it’s more of an HR formula when that large of a RIF.
I’ve lost over 50% of my team on more than one occasion, once only learning about it from my direct reports texting me that they just had their system access cut off.
This would be a potentially fatal mistake. Consultants switch firms all the time. What if one of those managers joins the firm you’re at or potentially a different firm you work at later in your career? They’ll still likely be your boss and now you burned that bridge and you’ll likely be the one looking for a new job once again.
In 2019 we hired a guy and he flexed on his old manager who had let him go. The manager turned out to be my friend and said can’t believe you guys hired him and gave a few reasons. Although that never impacted but we did keep a very close eye on him.
Two weeks?! Impressive!
Thats ok guys/gals, I answered this one. Lets move on to next problem
Thats better, much better
As you get older so many people come and go. If you have to think about it this hard, the connection isn’t a lasting one. At the risk of sounding insensitive, they’ve already moved on and probably don’t care at all. Seeing the LinkedIn update is entirely appropriate, and if they want they can click like or comment. People you work for/with will very rarely stay in touch as friends once you move on.
I’d thank them for giving the opportunity to work at the company and ask them what things you can improve at your next job. This way you won’t burn the bridge and also you’ll know why they did it.
I wouldn’t try to tell you what you should do especially if it wasn’t a direct result of your performance. However, I would go away without a word and let the bile /hate fuel me and I’d channel that into reinvigorated effort towards my next role. Perhaps have them on LinkedIn, just so they can see you grow from strength to strength

Tell them mf I got a job
Haha if I wanted to say it this way, I would just LinkedIn update and then text them ‘check my LinkedIn’
This exact thing happened to me. I just dropped it in casual conversation. I’ll be leaving in 2 weeks, so if you need anything before I leave let me know. Oh where you headed? Google, by the end of the two weeks they all wanted to come with me.
Congrats, anyways
The LinkedIn flex comes across more like a neener neener neener while thumbing your nose at them.
Personally if you want to let them know you landed on your feet you could say something like
Hello there. I wanted to let you know I am now working at XXXXX and if there is ever an opportunity to work together please reach out and maybe we could help each other

Text them, call them, or email them. Seems pretty obvious.
Getting laid off is a blow to our professional identity, even though it is expected to be part of our career at some point.
If you want to convey your success of getting a job quickly and show them that they made a mistake of letting you go, then you should write to them. ( do not forget to tell them about the huge salary bump, etc).
Otherwise why do you want to write, just convey through LinkedIn and move on!
$h!t happens. You were either cut due to performance or other issues came up or straight cost cutting. You found a job very fast so kudos. Just post on LinkedIn and move fwd. take the learnings from prior firm and help for your future role (s).
Wait about two months. It’s almost Christmas time, so add them to your Christmas mailer list, but custom order cards that are special just for them. There are plenty of online printing services out there. Just make sure you custom make a Christmas card that says something like, “It was a year of change and growth. I went from a company where I had two d**khead bosses, and now I have arrived in a wonderful place…”
You can go on from there, but just make sure it’s on a a Christmas card with you and your family. Wear some ugly sweaters. But make sure you do this. It’s gonna feel wonderful.

Re-reading your post, I see the sarcasm. Guess I skimmed it too fast and completely did not even ready the bottom parts 😂
You weren’t laid off, you were fired. There’s a big difference lol
Do the right thing and drink yourself to oblivion for a month (a la Don Draper). You’ll feel like shit, but you’ll no longer remember why you started drinking in the first place.
Good luck.
Send them an email telling them thanks for firing me, I found a much better opportunity thanks to you not keeping me and I doubled my salary. How are things at <old company name>
