I just got a HireVue interview sent to me by UnitedHealth Group Optum. I’m old and never had to do one of these before. Any insights into questions that are typically asked or what I should look out for?

I think you get a minute to do a high level overview about yourself, then some basic questions like “tell me about a time when you disagreed with a teammate”, “what is your ideal work environment?”, “what kind of manager are you?”. Then maybe another minute to fill in anything you think is important.
I believe you can practice a couple questions beforehand too, so don’t stress about it too much.
I left Optum recently but was there for 3 years. Nothing but great experiences for me, just wish they paid a little better 🤷♂️ cool work, great team, excellent WLB, just a little low for pay.
I had to do one with CVS. The questions were standard behavioral questions. Also, the system usually gives you some practice time/questions before you officially submit your responses.
Hope this helps!
The hirevue was very simple. I believe you have 4 attempts to record your answer. I have done two of them and each one was very easy. Don’t stress over it : )
It’s standard protocol. Optum’s hiring practices are dumb and outdated. Just do it. I had to do a one way video interview.
Questions are standard.
I’m no longer at Optum but use to co-lead our academic recruiting process for a sister company. A little surprised you have to go through the HireVue process... thought it was just for the youngins… I didn’t even have to go through that when I was hired as a Senior Consultant a few years ago. Questions range from, tell me about yourself, why are you interested in us, tell me about a time when you had to work on a difficult project, tell me about your qual/quant experience. Questions may differ for the senior director position though.
They tried to down level me to Director and couldn’t come close on salary, so I stopped the interview process after 3 virtual interviews + HireVue. It was an overly drawn out process, and they didn’t tell me they couldn’t meet my salary until the last stage so it left a bad taste in my mouth. YMMV, but they did a case in all 3 virtual interviews plus typical behavioral questions.
Everyone has to do it. I stumbled and froze, yet was still moved on to an interview. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
