I'll buy you lunch/coffee for your time.
If interested shoot me an email me at kathryn@crescent.app! And thank you!!

Bonus are taxed at a flat rate. Check the irs website
35% or something like that +\-
Exact number is on their website
Exactly what I was gonna say ^^ the IRS got bonus'd, too! yay them 😂
Money is money, if you were over taxed you’ll get it back when you file.
Most bonuses are taxed at 35-40% . The math adds up.
Its called taxes my friend. 33% deduction on bonuses.
Just look at your paystub and you can see what your deductions and taxes are
Federal withholding rate for supplemental income is 22%. Then there's state. California taxes 10.23% on bonuses. New York is 11.7%. Anyone who stays in those states are insane. I'm at 2.5%
You should get a refund for the federal stuff if you overpaid, but I don't think it will adjust much or at all for most state income tax because many states tax a flat rate on bonuses
More like 40% taxed. Crazy.
If you overpaid on the taxes you will get it back when you file. If you’re single, and have no dependents- max out your deductions during the year so you won’t owe anything or very little- in fact you “might” get a refund. If your married and especially if your married AND have at least 3 dependents you can most likely claim exempt on your withholding during the year and still owe NOTHING or very little. You very likely will get a refund even! Of course it all depends on how much you make, how many dependents you have etc, but in general being married and having children is generally better for you come tax time
Bonuses get taxed similarly to overtime, which means hard unfortunately. But wtg on that bonus!
