Being on Prozac changed my life for the better, and it’s made my depression (and anxiety) much more manageable. I don’t feel quite as low as I normally would when I’m stressed, I’m more patient, and my thoughts of suicidal ideation are gone.

When I bumped up my dose from 10mg to 20mg, I got jittery, so I went back to 10mg, where I have no side effects.
I am also on an oral birth control that doesn’t seem to interfere with it.
Little bit of different scenario. I got into a bad depression several months back. Started taking lexapro and was worse experience of my life. Never felt worse.
Tried to get to the root of the issues realizing I was scattered working from home, everything felt unorganized and I couldn’t catch up, which was leaking into all areas of my life.
Realized, I had taken myself off ADHD medication like 14 years ago in college. And after losing the structure of going to work, and the edges bleeding into work life balance, maybe it was time to get back on. Been on adderall for about 4 months now and never felt better or more capable and all the anxiety and depression (which were cascades of my root problem) started to fall away.
I spent over a decade depressed on a small dose of cutaloprram because I was too embarrassed to go up in dose or try anything new. It took just enough edge off to make me a high functioning depressed person.
This is an imprecise science of trial and error. Which is why you’ll hear different experiences.
After going off the small dose I tried and fix myself with ayahuasca and mindfulness. Didn’t work. So I finally gave in and found a psychiatrist I trusted (important). And I told myself I’d give it a year of doing what they said. If it didn’t work, I’d kill myself.
Medication literally saved my life. And got me to the point where my problems feel more normal and not so heady and intangible. But it took time, trial and trust to get there

I got on lexapro about 6 months ago and it was a game changer for me after having tried several other options that did not work well. One other thing I’d suggest is looking into GeneSite, a company that tests your dna for genetic mutations. I had one that doesn’t allow SSRI’s to function and am now on an additional supplement that boosts efficacy
Can you share your Lexapro dosage? It's been suggested to me. And thanks for the gene testing site. I'm currently trying l-methylfolate which was also suggested to me, on the chance that I might have a deficiency and this will help before I try Lexapro.
Wellbutrin here - 150mg to 300mg.
Definitely helped.
I started on Zoloft this year and it’s been a game changer. Pretty low dosage but just enough to take my anxiety way down and make my moods better all the time. What questions do you have?
Wellbutrin + Zoloft =calmer me
I've been on citalopram for years and it worked well until recently. Now I take that plus welbutrin and some buspirone. Still struggling to find the right balance, it takes time unfortunately but the end result is worth it!
Same meds!
It's been suggested to me. Was Lexapro an option? That was what the psychiatrist suggested.
