Am I doing a mistake? Going from PwC to Accenture for $45K more (113 Vs 158), and a role that’s better aligned with what I was doing before joining & what I want to be doing? I joined PwC for the experience and the exit opportunity it can provide me in the future, but it’s hard not to accept this role from Accenture! Decision need to be made by end of this week….

Yup, no lifetime max, even on things like IVF
D4 i feel ya but honestly its a super case by case kinda thing. If you have major 1s and 2s and solid network, youd be surprised at how accommodating they can be albeit temporarily. I have a 15 month old and have managed ok so far but what lies ahead of me is scary once back on the road
Once you get back from paternal leave, can't wait to see what you think about the work/life balance issues (unless, you've already made Partner).
I'm not crapping on the benefits... you work this hard, use them and take advantage of what they promised. But also keep your eyes open for a better job with more flexibility and less travel.
I am as well… Sorry my AutoCorrect keeps changing parental to paternal. Sexist iPhone 😉
Wow really?
That's amazing!
Does Deloitte also cover adoptions? Wife and I are thinking of going that route.
*parental not paternal
This is actually really good to know
Wow that's amazing!!
D5, I was your 2 rating parent... they were accommodating at first, but then I had to back on the road. I wasn't traveling and all of a sudden now I'm a 3. People stopped being as supportive because of the nature of the work and pressures. I used to be happy that I was on a relatively flexible team, but now it's feeling horrible. Looking at leaving now.
D4- if its the struggle of being back on the road, id empathize but getting a 3 is not all that bad in my book- ratings are the least of my concern. All i want is a decent manager and work and a schedule that permits time with my baby without having to feel like shit
D5, it's the long hours too. They won't make things hard right after paternal leave, so you'll have at least a few months of less stress, but from what I hear and experienced myself, work will start picking up a few months afterward ... so seriously, start checking often for opps at companies with great work-life balance and no travel. It will take a while to find one at those kinds of companies.
D4 im a mom :)
Did that change in 2017? My wife and i utilized the Deloitte Aetna infertility stuff and were scared of the lifetime maximums ($25k for treatment / $15k for meds - 2015 and 2016)
@D6 I called them today and they said no max ... could be wrong tho
i'll try to double check my stuff at some point - regardless, it's super generous
Do other plans cover it too? I was lucky enough not to need it for my first kid, but who knows what's in store for the second.
