I love my job but I feel as though I’m not getting a lot of assignments nor are the assignments challenging, and my firm is heavy on billable hours (which is a stressful matter on its own). I really want to look for another job but I have only been working with the firm for about 6 months and I have this guilty feeling for even wanting to look for a job(at least I have a job and make enough to pay my bills).

Have you tried asking a partner for something else? More challenging? I was doing a ton of litigation and I wanted a break so I asked for some appellate work and they gave me a couple of briefs.

If you’ve tried this and failed, then I’d put some feelers out for moving. As long as you don’t move every 6 months (unless contract work) I think it is totally fine to leave.

Just be deliberate at your next firm so the work appeals to you.

You need to ask for more work. Partners can’t hold your hand, they have enough going on as it is. Be blunt about it. Staying quiet won’t help. (Sorry I don’t mean to sound like an ass).

My main concern was shift and i have some health issues and unable to continue in night shift in Mindtree and tech mahindra its purely EMEA shift and per project team update.

Shall i switch to tech Mahindra?

Hi Folks having YOE of 3.7 yrs in IT, any chance to move to any one of MBB

Heading to an M7 soon from a tech company where I work in a product-adjacent position. I didn’t need this degree to “break into” product management (former company would have let me transition), but I still figured it could be good for the long run.
Now when thinking about 100K in loans, I feel anxious about not getting a PM role after. Was this the right move?

What’s the deal with RFPs? I’ve spent countless [non-billable] hours on several of them only to find out that I’m not included in the actual proposal (the document sent to the client showcasing the proposed case team). Is this normal?

What are folks thoughts on nuclear power? I have heard there are many detractors. Before getting into consulting, I was trained to operate a nuclear power plant on a submarine and learned about this excellent source of energy.

The main issues I see with it are the initial upfront costs to setup (with the cheapest generation costs thereafter), and disposal of nuclear waste (which some new technologies are being developed to reuse the waste in a different kind of reactor).
