As long as you have a solid portfolio of non-pharma work, you’re fine. I freelance and jump between pharma and general consumer all the time.
Pro
Do you have a solid portfolio of non pharma work?
If so, you'll rely on that to get your next gig after pharma, just saying that type of work is what you want to get back to doing.
Congrats on securing the bag btw!
It definitely is very hard, yes. I was able to get out of pharma and go in-house, but never was able to get in at a regular agency, even when applying for lower titles.
Pros are that pharma seems to always be hiring, and it's a small world so you'll probably know people at all the other pharma shops soon. Easy to keep hopping around and making money. But the work is the same everywhere (it sucks).
Honestly thats great to hear! I’ve been thinking of going in-house going forward anyways since the agency model seems to be dying. From what I hear pharma seems to have more stability too.
Once you switch, very few ever go back to CPG or FMCG.

Very difficult to switch unless you have a great book now.
What’s a pharmacy salary range like?
If I was in your position, I would take the job without publicizing on LinkedIn/resume/etc. and keep actively looking for non-pharma work
