I recently accepted a new role after being laid off. I feel really blessed to have found a job in this climate. My new boss is wonderful! However, the role itself isn’t in the direction I want to go. I’m struggling with feeling guilty for continuing to job search. Any advice on staying somewhere for a good boss vs. switching jobs so soon?

Doesn’t matter these days. You can really do whatever you need to survive for the next 12 months.

Fair, I suppose I’m trying to imagine it’s a post Covid or like it never happened. The only issue is the new role is agency side and I really want to be vendor side.

Yup, you have to take care of #1 right now. No matter what you do, dump the guilt. Work is to have money to survive. You are your own biggest fan and advocate - nobody else is going to get you where you want to go.

Let go of the guilt. You’ve already experienced a lay off, which can often be your reward for being loyal to a company (or person).

I appreciate any kind of guidance.

Humor me please. I don’t understand his many people esp. in the US with a college background go months unemployed after being laid off. On LinkedIn I feel like recruiters are often reaching out and there are so many job opportunities. What am I missing?

I will not judge or comment, and I ask the same of those who respond. Please feel free to PM me as well.” It was eye-opening, tear-jerking. Please consider!

Curious for thoughts on why a firm who laid off associates last year—many of whom “just happened” to be parents—is celebrated by Diversity Lab and other organizations for its diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts? My father is retired, and is looking into investments. Currently has rental properties, but at a certain point too many of them are a headache that he doesn’t want to deal with. Rental properties that are >1 bedroom typically don’t have the return he would like to see.

The idea that the vaccine will somehow be dangerous in the future is kind of ludicrous to me. Do those saying this really believe that something that could essentially wipe out 170M Americans, including the president, pretty much the entire medical industry, university students, and others would be this heavily recommended by lifelong experts? Do those saying this really think they’re smarter than everyone else?
