I’m feeling lost. I’m in my 30s and my career has been mediocre and now there is the prospect of layoffs. I haven’t had a romantic relationship last longer than a few months and I don’t have any close friends. I feel like I am failing on every front and I don’t know how to turn it around. I feel like I need some radical change but can’t figure it out Anyone have similar experience and was able to find a way out?
Deloitte HR: if someone is hired in during the freeze (got special approval), is there any chance they would be laid off soon thereafter? Also, what is the % of Deloitte folks getting laid off this?
Does anyone else feel like they’re consistently having to prove themselves every day? I don’t mean usual “trying to go above and beyond at work” I mean the nagging feeling that you might get fired if you don’t accomplish every email task or chat request that may or may not be directed to you. Constantly anxious at this job.
People who have had confidence knocks: how did you get it back? I was laid off, 6M out of work, had therapy, now freelancing but I’m slow af. It’s like my brain only works in 2nd gear now.
So now that the layoffs have settled for the moment at PwC, do you actually feel like a lot of the people in your group were let go? Because I don't...
Sorry if this isn’t the right bowl! I was fired from my last job due to performance issues. I filed for unemployment and was approved, however my former employer filed an appeal. I’m not even sure what they’re protesting but it’s making me really nervous. What should I do now?
Just found out my manager (who many people are frustrated with) got a rating of 2. Does this mean she may get fired? If so, when would that happen?
I work at a small startup and a bunch of colleagues (around 30% of the company) got laid off today. I have a bit of survivors guilt. Should I contact these colleagues? Is it inappropriate this soon?..
Can you be laid off if you're on a project?
Say you work at Accenture and are doing OK (haven't been laid off yet and have projects lined up). Also let's say that you have good skills in cloud infrastructure, which is plenty busy right now. What would motivate you to accept a job offer at a tiny consulting firm (less than 300 people)? Would a good raise and a promotion to Senior Manager be enough? There are many risks involved with going to a tiny firm. What would it take for you make the jump and overcome concerns?
90% sure I’m about to be fired for sexual harassment (more detail in comments). Should I resign before I’m fired?
Why did you leave your last job? Did you follow your passion, hated the work, got fired, wanted more money, etc?
Is anyone else scared of signing a new apartment lease because they’re unsure if they’re being laid off in the next few months 😅
Anyone know when holiday layoffs are being scheduled for this year? First week of December or end of January?
Got fired from agency. Had to relocate out of pocket. WPP accidentally pays me 15 days later. Loving the glitch. Out of integrity I reported it. Their response was everything but thankful. (Cont.)
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
Anyone made the switch from Tax/Audit to analyst/Consulting? What's your favorite thing about the switch? I just received an offer from Accenture as an Analyst for something unrelated to my last position. Really fired up. 🎉
Any one leave for Wayfair? How’s the work life balance? Challenging projects? Tips for interviewing?
Where’s the best consultancy to work at for digital people? Who has a great culture and supports there people? Convince me why I should work at your company.
I moved in to my first home about 6 months back. I live by myself and just want to be in my neighbors good books. I was under the assumption that neighbors would try and make me feel welcome to the neighborhood but nothing so far. Any tips or ideas for a gift on a budget to be in their good books? For reference both neighbors are a couple , one is an older couple and the other are expecting their first child.TIA!
If I want to get my MBA in about 2 years and I've already take the GMAT (740). As a white female what do I need to be actively doing for the next couple of years to differentiate myself?
My brother is a college student in Minnesota looking for a summer internship in our field. Is anyone here hiring or know of someone who may be willing to provide that opportunity?
For those who exited from Audit, How would you compare your work hours compared to the Audit? Please provide your current role as well! I saw that in deals, the hours are much more random and schedules are much more tighter! I am also curious if it's temporary workload considering the amounts of deals post-COVID.
Just want to vent… am I the only person who doesn’t want to stay WFH full time forever? Starting my career virtually hasn’t necessarily been bad, I just feel really disconnected from my team and partner. It’s hard to get to know people casually over teams. Living in my 600 sqft apartment with my boyfriend working in the other room is also tough. It feels like my world is smaller. I just feel like I’m sorta missing out on something.
Any B4 boomerangers?
I left the US last year and now I'm thinking about going back there.. I used only 2.5 years of my H1B. What are my chances of getting a job in the US while I am physically not present in there? How should I communicate that "I'm not on h1b right now but I'm eligible for transfer" to recruiters ? Would appreciate any advice
Has anyone made the switch from consultant to Project Manager in industry? How was the transition? Moving onto a 3rd round for a PM role, haven’t had formal PM training but they said the next interview will be PM specific questions. What’s the best way to prepare?
Advice needed-I’m 30 weeks pregnant and constantly getting dumped on at work (in industry now). I’m high risk (gestational diabetes & hypertension) and have been clear with my all male management team that I’m high risk. Still, they are steady trying to pull me into new projects while I’m actively leading one of the most high profile projects in the org. From a career standpoint, I appreciate it, but I cannot physically keep up the way I used to and feel like I’m risking my and my baby’s health.
Currently working on interview prep for a product manager role. Purchased the product alliance course and going through the content now. Ex consulting 🐠, now product mgrs, did you also read more books, content etc to learn core principles of pm to boost confidence in interview prep? Thanks in advance! 🙏🏼
What is the salary progression like at Bain (as you go through the ranks and also if you’re at the same position for >1 year)? I’m an intern and I don’t know how to bring this topic up to my managers lol
I’m working for a big 4 and have a suggestion to encourage folks to return to the office. I find I’m more productive overall if I spend a few days a week in the actual home office. However…I don’t want to pay a couple hundred a month on parking. How about reimbursing parking? That would be a valuable perk…versus free bagels and garbage food.
What are the Big4 Advisory Director/Senior Manager salary ranges for Procurement/Coupa/iValua/Ariba?
