Meds are like birth control - gotta find the right one to you. These medications don’t have the same effect on everyone. If you ever feel not like yourself, talk to your doctor immediately
Medication type as well as dosage play a factor, not just the med itself
Exercise , hydrate and eat clean, avoid caffeine when taking these stimulants. Vyvanse has been a lifesaver for me . Give it a shot
In addition, you could try a different manufacturer of adderall. There is a certain manufacturer I have to avoid because of it's side effects. But most others are fine.
I like Teva and Sandoz, although the latter has not been in stock in my area for a while. And neither one is honestly that great.
I’ve never had Mallin-whatever because I read awful things on Reddit, but now I’m curious. Elite and Lannet were like sugar pills and I noticed no difference. I also got headaches from Lannet.
I heard Teva used to be much more effective but they did something to their formula.
It’s really annoying that most US insurers won’t cover the brand name drugs. I often wonder what “real” adderall is like if I get a small amount of help with the crummy generics.
I've never tried Adderall (because it was never in stock) so I do 20mg of Ritalin 3x/day; but I DID try Vyvanse and I can't use it. I've had insomnia my whole life and Vyvanse made it so so so much worse. I could not sleep at ALL. There is no fast acting version of it, only the extended release—so if you're prone to insomnia, it may not be worth exacerbating that because of anxiety and mood swings are already a challenge, lack of sleep is not going to improve those. My Ritalin can make my anxiety much worse as well; I find green noise (on the Calm app with subscription) and herbal tea (I like turmeric tea) can help the anxiety (or Calm vitamins from Olly which use lemon balm). Worth being able to the control I get with fast-acting.
Good luck!
