I think one of the biggest struggles is who does what in a specialty practice when it comes to critical care or internal medicine. Does anyone have any experience with these? Job outlooks?

I’ve worked in ECC and referral medicine for a long time. What exactly are you wondering about?

Are you a doctor or a tech? There are openings for both in many, probably most, specialty hospitals. As a tech, if you’re in a specialty dept then you would assist that doctor with appointments and procedures and assist the ER with any patients that your dept admits. The specialists and the ER docs/criticalists consult frequently as needed. Switching depts isn’t impossible, but the process is specific to each hospital. Getting along isn’t generally a big issue, we are professionals.

Are you looking for a specific role within a practice, or are you confused about your role in your current practice? It sounds like you might be looking to switch, but it might be worth clarifying with the other doctors at your office -- maybe there's an issue that could be resolved with clear communication?

I have experience with specialty practice in critical care. It was an incredibly rewarding experience, as the level of care required and the complexity of the cases were intense. The job outlook for specialty practice in critical care and internal medicine is very positive, as the demand for highly trained and experienced practitioners is increasing.

Are looking for the difference between critical care and internal medicine? I would say internal medicine more so deals with chronically ill patients and critical care is more for patients that are in a life threatening condition like if they were hit by a car. Hope this helps

I have been working in SEA region last 4 years. I feel burned out. I have 10yoe, I have try to move to other country but I pretty much suck in LeetCode. I want to take some time off to unwind, finish some personal business, and really prepare for interviews. I would like to hear from you. Should I quit to my current manager(5th so far) or wait after mid year performance review, when a new boss will take over my team? I'm thinking on giving them 2 months notice period. By contract is 1.

Thanks

I’m in-house at a small company (60 people), started right out of law school about 5 years ago. We had a legal team of 5 then. Everyone has left and we just hired a new GC. I went from $70k to $100k a little over a year ago. I am expecting an offer from a firm doing business law work but think this might be an opportunity to go to my current employer and ask for a significant raise, with new offer in hand. Any thoughts or advice going into this?

AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

AWS has prestige but is it worth it?

Do you get the feeling that there is a higher image promotion of women/minority people in Tech?I have seen way to many pictures from major tech companies that promote far more women/minorities than white males in their marketing materials.Wouldn't be better if we hired the best people no matter what the race/gender is?I know some companies are not publishing any gender/race stats but you cant't really demand a 50/50 ratio. Also there is no coincidence that most execs is some companies are British. So this goes both ways.
