I was in a trial for a week and some days the judge would not stop for lunch. At one point I approached the judge and explained I am on medication where I have to eat. The judge told me “oh well in my court we don’t stop”. We also barley got to take bathroom breaks. Would starving us for trial grounds for a judicial complaint?

Damn that is a toxic mentality. I take several medications and have blood sugar issues. I HAVE to eat. I am a human with basic human needs. The boomer mentality is the toxic cancer of the legal system.

like

I’m wondering that as well. It’s been 4 days post trial and my body I still struggling from lack of basic needs.

SA1 I said boomer MENTALITY, which it is.

P1 it’s not whining, it’s a basic human need. I don’t expect the world to cater to me, but when you go through life like a sheep accepting ridiculous things as “the way it is” then nothing ever changes, does it. Please don’t ever go into politics, there is enough of your kind there already.

Jury trial?

Yes that was the point of my question

like

Most judges I know sleep during trials and they will tell you during house keeping 🤣

Gosh some of these kids have never gotten a kidney infect from holding it too long and it shows. (For those that attend the school for kids who couldn’t read good, I am joking).

Jokes aside I am always in awe of those that can drink water during trial. I have to live in a state of dehydration because I must have the world’s smallest bladder.

Wonder if this can be an appeal ground or file writ to order bathroom and lunch break time lol.

Tell me you’re not a litigation or appellate attorney without telling me you’re not a litigation or appellate attorney.

I am in search of a Project Manager role. I have about 4 + years experience managing projects and in consulting.

I am about concluding the google certificate in project management, and one unique think I bring into any team is my strategic thinking and ability to solve problems in record time.

I am based in Canada and a remote role will be great.

I anticipate your responses and recommendations thank you very much.

Additional Posts in Litigation & Arbitration

It may seem obvious, but in my experience partners value trial experience over anything else, so get it however you can. For example, my firm will favor a former prosecutor who has seen the courtroom a lot but has no civil litigation experience (not even a depo) over a seasoned associate who has only second chaired cases with a partner but hasn’t tried a case. Even trying a case and losing gives you credibility at my firm because you still did it.

I am able to pay the bills with my hourly defense work, which gives me time to focus on a handful of high value PI case a year on contingency. Is there any way to change this perception or does it just come over time?
