I work with older people and I have found it to be a trend that a lot of older people are sometimes openly racist. I was recently told that a patient I had just started caring for has asked for a white caregiver, and the family was shocked apparently because they said this woman never said anything like that before (to them..). Are people just dropping filters and revealing themselves or do you think that with some patients it changes to be exaggerated, maybe with things like dementia involved?

Has anyone gotten to the point where it is physically painful to try and concentrate? Not sure what to do at this point; had Ritalin for a bit, but I adjusted in like 10 days before the benefits went away. Now I’m scared I’ll just keep getting worse

I’m only in my 1st trimester now but will be starting a new job in October (4 months before my due date) and am nervous about not being able to be at my best

I’m having a really hard time with my changing body. 13 weeks, I don’t have too many bad side effects of pregnancy or anything so I consider myself lucky (no nausea ever etc) but I’m depressed at work, my skin is completely broken out and showing new broken face capillaries, and I’m not showing a bump yet so I just feel fat and big. I don’t know where this “glow” is but I look in the mirror and literally am grappling with not recognizing myself :( it’s been impossible to find any clothes too.

Finally had a breakdown over infertility this AM and trying to pull myself together for Zoom. My tests are fine, but husband can’t deliver during my fertile window. I feel so hopeless with every month that goes by, and he doesn’t have any sense of urgency when HE is the one who wants kids more than I do. Just needed to vent.

I see a therapist, and a psychiatrist, and am on medication, but I still have days where I wake up and I’m so depressed I can’t move. I’m working on remedying this with my doctors, but how does one approach mental health issues with their employer? I never felt the need to until I realized how much being bipolar can affect my ability to work.

I get it, I'm 5'4 and Black and work in pediatrics, but the assumption and casual racism is kind of ridiculous when the actual nurse has just told you that the doctor's coming and then I walk in the door.
