Sort of a tangent but I’m posting anyway. At first this felt shocking to me. However, I keep reading how the option for remote work is going to continue to make it hard to close the wage gap between men and women. I have to agree with that. My husband is in the office every day even though his office is at 25%. I, a woman, do not want to go to the office because wfh is really helping me keep all the balls in the air with our house and kids. I know if I chose to stay remote, people back in the office (probably more males than females) will be selected for higher profile projects because they are getting the exposure. Do I think it’s wrong they’ll get the projects? No. Do I think this will impact number of women going for partner? Yes. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Think outside the box. Large companies should used some of the saved office space to create in-house daycares to encourage people to come to the office. Will help solve so many issues, and parents of any gender can say hi to their kids between status meetings.

My husband is at Google and his understanding is that they’re requiring employees work in the office three days per week, and you only have to apply for more than 14 consecutive days. So, they’re still allowing WFH twice a week.

A2—that’s awful. Most firms are doing remote SA programs. What market are you?

I was wondering what they were planning to do with all that real estate and salad bars.

Anyone from Google in here that can give more insight? Curious about this

Protip: WFH in the morning, then stroll in after lunch. You’ll not only beat rush hour traffic, it won’t count as a WFH day 😉

hello! I’m looking to get some insight to see if I’m being paid fairly for where I’m at in my career. I’ve worked at the same company for 2.5 years. This is my first job out of college. Started as an HR Admin, basically in a call center for all HR related inquiries and now am a Sr Admin assisting with escalations, interviewing, training new hires, supporting my team, scheduling, keeping track of stats- phone calls, tickets resolved, etc. I’m making $52k per year and work remote out of MA.

How do people focus in the office? I'm a first year and I've been mostly wfh since I started and I'm super productive at home - my setup is comfortable, I rarely get interrupted, and I feel like I can stay really focused in my home office.

Our SAs started today, so the firm is making us come in more often. My office set up is so awkward, screens are too small, and I'm constantly getting interrupted. Not to mention the extra time it took to get ready and commute. How do people do this?

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

Today's tip: Your resume (and cover letter) should target the specific position. The easiest way to do this is to edit your professional summary and key skills sections (which should comprise the top third of your resume) to reflect the qualifications required or desired in the job posting. Be honest – only reference those skills you have!

I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.

For next year my goal increased by 2.5X, and less of what I bring in counts towards that target. I really enjoy my job but I will essentially be getting a large pay cut. Lost in what to do besides quit??
