Hi, I hope everyone's having a good Sunday and staying safe! A little nervous about posting here but here it goes! I started an instagram page to showcase some amazing Asian talents and their work in our industry.
I'd love to see more representation of Asians in our industry, especially at leadership level. I wanted to create a place where we can empower, support, and inspire each other.
Please come check it out! instagram.com/weare.vol1
Stay safe out there!

Stay where you are and get promoted to senior. Associate level wont exist anymore at B4 and mid tiers within the next year
Well still need onshore staff They will just do different things than they would’ve done in 2015
I would apply for senior
Biggest problem right now is probably timing, we are in busy season basically and staffing is set. Keep applying!
You’ll probably have better chance May-October but if you see positions open I’d just apply

Make the hop to senior
I think D1 means get promoted to senior at your current firm then make the switch.
Apply to Armanino
A lot of positions are open that don’t always get formally posted. I would try to connect with anyone at the firm you are looking at. Can be anyone, but they can hand your resume directly to their recruiters and move the process more quickly. Agree that the during the traditional busy season, there will be less openings, but by April, there will be a lot of movement and more opportunities.
When I worked at EY , they always said that staffing for second year was really challenging. Try to find an in with someone at the firm you want to go to and be willing to make a lateral move… how big 4 audits and operates versus how smaller firms operate are totally different. … This is because of the size of the companies they audit. so you’ll need to show that you are coachable and that you want to learn a different way of doing things - without putting anyone down, of course.
