I’m a retired Marine thst hasnt found viable work outside if Armed Security, which Ive been doing for 5 years now. The issue is thst in TN the highest paying work in that field is $23/hr (from what I’ve seen), but with the economy being what it is, that seems incredibly low. Especially since some companies are starting officers as low as $13/hr. Do other areas pay security workers (especially those with years of experience and multiple certifications) this low, and if so can someone explain why?

Currently I work for a small company that does the construction of small cell utility poles and roof top sites for the major cell carriers like VZW, T-mobile, AT&T and so on. I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Submitti bids, sourcing material, negotiating price on materials, handling post construction inspections, scheduling sub contractors, notifying stakeholders, coordinating with construction managers - property owners - building management.

Waking up feeling impending doom and dread due to work. Anyone else feel the same now?
