I'm expecting soon! As a Black professional, do you think your career improved or took a backseat when having kids?

I used to get 2-3 productive hours after the kids went to bed to catch up on work, chores, shopping, etc but now I'm struggling to have any motivation after the hour-long process of getting kids down.

Very sad today. Just very sad. Feel like nothing works. Relationship doesn’t work. Dating is so hard. Work is so boring. I hate being alone. Am I a loser?

Anyone has an alternative to an Au Pair. Wife and I were looking forward to host an au pair but can’t go through the official program since we are not permanent residents yet. Anyone has an alternative besides traditional daycare? Maybe a friend of a friend? I am in NJ. Any ideas welcomed and needed!

Any parents who are still on the safe side with Covid? We have a 1 year old and being safe and staying mostly home is really getting to me. Most of our friends have kids who are able to mask up or are vaccinated and it’s getting quite isolating. Especially now mask mandates are being lifted feeling like we can’t go anywhere without risking our kid.

IBD came to states at 8. My cousins back home are getting arrange married. My parents are starting to pressure me and pity me. But I have no interest in following a "timeline" and am pretty ambivalent when it comes to kids. I already have a SO and do not see a reason to tie the knot just because other people my age are. LMAO what do Afro Latinos look like? I just asked a creative to include more pictures of Afro-Latinos in our hispanic messaging and she said "I tried to find pictures of videos that looked authentic but they didn't have the right look, it's a very specific look". So no black people in the ad cause this white passing lady needs to gate keep who looks latina enough. The blond, blue eyed women in the photos passed though... UGHH.
