Been there before! I've struggled with insomnia a lot in my life. I started following Dr. Andrew Huberman's advice about getting 5-10 mins daily morning sunlight in my eyes before 10am, and it's completely changed my circadian rhythm. I no longer take any sleep aids and I sleep soundly throughout the night!!
That's awesome! Do you actually have to get out in the sun, or just by a window or what? Lol
Marijuana is legal in my state. The ONLY thing that helped me get restful sleep when I was struggling with serious insomnia was low dose THC edibles. 1-3 mgs is not enough to get most people ‘high’ but it helped me get back into a rhythm after a few days.
There are pot shops every few blocks around here. But brand-wise, Wyld has a good selection of low THC options with some CBD for added benefit, and it’s widely available as long as your state is legalized.
I can totally relate! I've been struggling with the same issue lately. It's frustrating to be exhausted during the day, only to find myself wide awake at night. One thing that has helped me is establishing a consistent sleep schedule. Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, even on weekends, has gradually regulated my sleep pattern.
Thanks for sharing. How do you get into a consistent sleep schedule when you can't sleep though??
I know you hear it all the time but drink more water. I’m serious. I used to be the same way but I made sure I was staying hydrated and it’s helped so much.
Establish regular sleeping times, 10 mg of melatonin since it’s one of the few non-habit forming sleep aids, studies suggest true ideal sleeping temperature 60-68 F, turn off screens 1-2 hours before bed, check the fabric of your sheets/blankets since synthetic fabrics like polyester are non-breathable and may make it harder to regulate your body temperature. Cut back in caffeine, try to do something relaxing since stress can keep you up. Some people like to put relaxing scents on their pillowcase. Depending of where you live, you may need a humidifier or dehumidifier. Blackout curtains, and draft dodger can reduce noise/light. And that’s just a few suggestions lol, went through spells of insomnia so these are some of the things I did that had some affect.
I got a less stressful job that paid just as much. Very happy I did, giving up your health isn’t worth it.
Try taking ZMA it’s great and nothing addictive or dangerous just zinc and magnesium
