I’m in final stages of applying as a director at a comms agency. For it to be something worth changing my current set up for, I’d want to be at least at $120k salary. Is this low? Accurate? And what advice does anyone have for negotiating in the current landscape.

I was interviewed for a perticular customer, which went well and also received an offer. Few days before of my joining date, i came to know that the technology stack from customer got changed and customer had no requirement for which i was hired. I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? Is negotiating offers the norm now? I’ve been at my company awhile and at the time I was hired they said they don’t do negotiations, take it or leave it and they’d offer the next person.
