I'm moving into another field. I've chosen administration over continuing in HR. Got laid off a few times and now have some health issues that make me think a lower workload is worth the peace. I'd love any tips or advice from your experience of moving away from a career you've spent a lot of time doing, vs a career that you chose out of circumstance.

Good luck! I think it's a brave and challenging move but surely comes with its positives of giving you a better suited life.

I did that recently and I am so much happier. I don't make as much money but I have way better work-life balance which is what I needed. It was honestly one of the best things I did for myself.

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Stupid Question- We have been thinking for IVF and trying to understand with this process, is there any difference in the health and life of the child as compared to a child born without IVF. This is not very old technology and not much studies as well.

Which companies have best WLB, least stressed DS/DA roles? I’ve been suffering from some immunology issues and stress from work would worsen it, therefore I want to move to a company/role with good benefit (esp. healthcare) and great WLB (little chance of PIP, etc). Doesn’t have to be high-paying, as long as it can support my life (single) and long-term medical cost. Thanks in advance.

Hi all, looking for advice.

I'm a technical writer with background in the hardware and healthcare industry. What would be a better option for me, pivoting into software tech writing or project management.

Which one pays better/is better (any advice appreciated, must be fully remote role)

If software tech writing, does anyone have advice on how to break into a role or learn what it takes to become one?

For PM, I got a cert (not PMP) and am trying to decide which of these two I go with.

Hi all!

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. She has since left the company, but there’s crazy turnover in the company & in the HR department in particular. Just that an HR coordinator resigned. Is it worth going back into a dumpster fire w/ no leadership to gain experience?
