Good thing you don't want to be a CPA, with that stance on ethics. Lol
Don't lie, what's the point if you're leaving soon anyway? Either way, people have better things to do than investigate a mundane detail like that.
Why do you care? Just say you didn't pass. That you're studying.
Why
If that's your perspective on ethics you probably shouldn't be a CPA to begin with.
Ehhh it's not that serious. If you don't pass then it is what it is. If you're not interested in passing and don't want to put that out there then just say right now isn't the best time for you to be taking the exams. In my opinion leading with the truth is less headache
What happens when your coach asks to see the score and you get caught in your lie right away and get fired. Don't be an idiot, just say you're working towards it
Isn't he going to figure it out when you're not a CPA?
So you're just going to pretend you're taking the tests and quit before you're cpa eligible?
Yep I'm planning to quit when I get a new job, which is not accounting related. Some coaches don't often ask their associates about their CPA status, but my coach does it ALL THE TIME. So just want to say I passed one and prepare for the next.
Ehhh the truth has a way of making itself known. My advice is don't lie and say you passed, but it's ultimately up to you!
Because I'm not planning to be a CPA but has to show my coach that I'm progressing
I don't think there's a way for them to check
OP you are the real MVP 👏👍🙌
People fail all the time. They also postpone all the time. No need to lie about it. On another note, I'd still suggest consideration for becoming a CPA. It's highly valued by the business world as a whole. Unless you're becoming a baker, I'd guess it wouldn't help. But there are so many non-accounting jobs that hold the designation in very high regard.
Don't do it
Only thing I'd caution is that sometimes coaches are required to communicate this up through hr for tracking purposes / so if you are sitting here thinking 'I'm just lying to one person' - it could be bit more serious than that.
Why would you bother preparing for the next one?
Why not just say you failed? At least it shows you are taking exams and trying. My coach was cool as long as I tried.
I have taken both AUD and BEC twice and failed. Didnt take the third time but don't want to tell them I failed again
