That’s how it is in the office as well. At least WFH you can be comfortable and not deal with extra office politics
I felt the same way when I started my current job in the middle of the pandemic. Then we went to hybrid and I realized I liked these people much more when I didn't have to see them in person.

I don't think it has to do with being remote. I've been 100% remote for almost a year and I see no change in commitment. I even work harder and better now. It might be the job itself, other personal issues, a personality thing.
