Looking for advice to maximise marketing career.

Hey everyone, I'm taking up a role that's a little bit of a paycut back into marketing (Enterprise Demand Generation for a tech company) and want to see what I can do to get my income back up there.

What would you recommend I learn/do to either move up quickly in marketing, or jump laterally to something that pays well (e.g. Business Analyst)?

I'm comfortable with Excel and Sales, as well as marketing.

Any tips for a candidate who is currently in working in a bank in IT operations and interviewing for a tech company for a role they don't have technical experience at all? Moving from a BA position to another BA role but tech is completely different...

I am looking into the CCP (Certified Compensation Professional). It seems to be quite an expensive exam.

For those who have taken it, are there any cheaper or alternative study materials to any official guides you would recommend? I went this route with the PHR and SHRM-SCP and passed each on the both try, so I wanted to see if that method may be viable here. Any recommended order to take courses in?

How many firms is too many? I’ve practiced 13 years. Since I was a 1st year associate, every 3 years or so I’ve been recruited for another opportunity that is hard to pass up. I’ve been at my current firm 3 years and got the call again, again about an opportunity that is hard to pass up. I don’t like having a reputation of a flight risk, but this keeps happening. Should I decline to pursue the opportunity just so I have a longer track record at my current firm? This will be my 4th if I move.

I just joined a non-dream company as a 10+ years experience guy. My friend working in my dream company forwarded a job requirement from his internal postings. I’m a Junior at Colgate University and have been heavily searching for a summer 2022 internship since October of 2021. I have had countless networking calls with various alumni in different professions and have learned plenty of great information, but have not gotten lucky enough to find an internship. Went through multi-day loop for L5 SA and felt confident in my interactions. Presentation went well with no lack of answers for follow up questions. Just found out 6 days later I will not be receiving an offer, and it is policy to not provide feedback of gaps or reasons behind no offer. Also found out they ask you not to reapply for 1 to 2 years for same role. Would anyone recommend an alternate path for feedback on interview (outside of recruiter) and is the 1-2 year policy true?

Are there many legitimate ethical hurdles when switching from insurance defense to plaintiff’s work? I’ve always seen myself as a plaintiff’s lawyer, but ultimately took an ID job out of law school (better salary, no real opportunities at plaintiffs firms that I liked). I’m having the hardest time finding a new job. I have 12 years of HR experience, a masters in HR, SHRM certification, and all I keep getting are rejection emails. I’ve never experienced this difficult of a time searching for new opportunities. Is this normal once you hit a certain level in your career or is it just me?

I’ll be promoted next year to senior but I’m in a niche role where I don’t see myself long term. Should I make a job switch now or should I wait to get promoted to senior? I currently have 1.5 years of experience.

Looking for some advice.. Manager left, I was given their work. Promoted few months after, but not to the role of my previous manager. Rec opened, I applied, didn't get it. We hired the new person and in my hopes to offload some of that original work back to them. I was told I'm going to continue to do everything my previous manager was doing.
