I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

It depends on where you want to get a job, entry level cyber in Toronto is around 70 to 80K. Most people don't necessarily start directly in cyber but something associated which may be lower. Based on your military experience I think 100K would be achievable maybe higher if you can demonstrate how your experience is relevant to the job (I must admit I am ignorant about what your role in the military entailed so I am generalizing and it may not be applicable to your particular situation).

I have a friend with similar experience in the U.S. Navy. He’s going on two years out of a cyber security degree program without a job. They didn’t teach him enough for an entry level job. Security is a tough place to start. I’d suggest an easier transition, help desk, networking, dev ops. You’ll get promoted quickly and you can always pivot into security. If you proceed with the cyber security program you’ll need an internship, probably a few self study certs, and you still might struggle. Most of us shifted to security mid career. No degree required.
Hey!
EY has a program for previous military and veterans that 8 heard a lot of good from. I do not know all the details as I am fairly new to EY but maybe look into this ->

Thanks! Looking at it now!
