If you are strong in sales anything can be good. I suggest linking your passion with your career. Nothing is/will be recession proof, that’s just reality. As a MLO for 20 years this is the worst I have seen over the past 18mo; much worse than 2007/2008... That being said the industry has also shedded a lot of individuals that truly were not “Mortgage Professionals”. Good luck whatever you decide.
I’m a former mortgage loan officer. I’m taking courses online with Udemy for sales engineer and QA Engineer. Your transferable skills are great for tech. I was told by a tech bootcamp instructor morgage loans officers are great with Customer Success Manager positions and as Sales Engineers. Helping the client to get to know the software. As well as troubleshooting software issues- hence the QA tester/analyst roles. I’m taking the Careerists Bootcamp this fall if I feel like the Udemy courses aren’t enough for me.
