Hi everyone. I interviewed for a sales role at Amazon. I was told the role was an L6 and I can stay based in Chicago. Well, the recruiter emailed me today saying the hiring team felt I was better suited for an L5 role (estimated total comp is $140K-$150K) and I would have to move to Seattle. They'll send me an offer if that works. Any advice or opinions on how to negotiate? For context, I gave a desired salary range of $280K-$310K since this was an L6 role, and my current TC at P&G is $200K.
Is it normal for PwC to downgrade you from a sr position you applied on their job portal to a experienced associate? I was told I will be fast tracked and the offer they gave me is on par with the base salary of a SA. Seems like I can’t negotiate the position.
Anyone with a pay for performance strategy that moved to no ratings? If so, how do you allocate merit and bonus without a rating or forced distribution?
Any moms at kpmg take maternity leave around the time when a salary increase should be taking place (e.g. start your leave mid-september when comp increases is expect in October)? Is it worth pushing off those 4 STD weeks before the due date to get yourself the new salary before going on leave? Any other ways to get the higher salary while on leave? Does it take effect if youre using pto and not the parental leave (maybe save your primary parental leave for a day later or something)?

I have two contract offers: One is about Data Management/Quality project for 6 months, the pay is 5000£ per month, the other is product data scientist for an early stage startup based in San Francisco for 4 months, the pay is a lot lot less (less than 1000£ per month). Tbh, I am not a big fan of data management, and I totally see myself doing product analytics which is becoming a hot skill in DS field. Is it stupid to turn down the first offer and accept the second one? I would love some advice

Any tips for someone who discounts good feedback but heavily focuses on the opportunities to improve? So much that I have a fear of getting fired despite receiving overall good feedback. I started a new job earlier this year. The function of the role and industry is new to me. My manager told me he generally has higher expectations than the rest of the organization. Originally, I viewed this as a great learning opportunity but can't help to think I'm not cut out for this and fear the worst.

@ legacy strategy PPEDs - in light of our supposed commitment to diversity and inclusion, what is the plan for the ED who is widely known for making openly racist and misogynistic comments in the office and on social media?
I started going to work in the office 2x per week now and there are a few (male, senior) colleagues who comment on my appearance, I.e. pointing out I have makeup on/wear office attire or not. I always come back with a comment to shut them up in a humourous way (haha), usually something like "thank god we're just talking about me and not your looks, Adam". But I think it's beyond unprofessional and really annoys me. Why do some men think they are entitled to comment on a woman's looks?
Beer gods were good to me today. Both neighbors felt generous while I was grilling. To quote Ice Cube "Today was a good day."
