That's gross and weird.
"Never felt safer"?
As far as I know, you’re referring to drag your kid to pride in Dallas last year - at which kids were HANDING money to them, dancing with them, walking the runway, etc - it was literally a youth LGBTQ+ fundraiser. Nothing is inappropriate about that. Keep being a bigot. You’ll all die off soon.
Bold of them to focus on drag when there have been 7+ school shootings and 80+ mass shootings so far this year and refuse to do anything about gun control.
They’re trying to criminalize these perfectly neutral identities and create fear where it doesn’t belong. I’m heartsick about the anti-lgbt legislation and how unwelcome and unloved people feel when they’re made illegal.
I agree. My spouse and I are a lesbian couple, and we just had our first baby in April 2022.
We are both “unicorns.” We were both born and raised here and have lived here our entire lives.
Im beyond angry because we are Tennesseans and have been our entire lives, yet our family isn’t protected here.
This state has made it very clear they only care about Tennesseans who have the same bigoted values; they don’t care about Tennesseans or Tennessean families who don’t align with that prejudiced view.
After living here for 30+ years, we plan on moving— where we are unsure.
We make a lot of money and pay a crap ton in taxes. I will not allow our hard-earned money to go toward bigoted unconstitutional laws. Funny thing is they know these laws are unconstitutional and will not hold up so they are just lighting fire to tax payer money so they can fear monger. They should focus on fixing our transportation issues or roads or education system.
Our Republican parents aren’t happy their grandchild will no longer get to grow up with them. It's their fault for electing such bigoted representatives — we deserve to raise our family where we feel safe and welcomed. We are tired of waking up every single morning to see yet another hateful unconstitutional law being voted on.
The more people that move away from this state who mind their own business and are kind to everyone — the more angry those Republican grandparents will get.
I’m curious if our parents change how they vote to get their grandkids close again. I think they are finally starting to realize the consequences of not paying attention to who you vote for and what they represent.
