I just went through this. I’m so sorry. It’s one of the worst experiences and it is not YOU. I wish nobody ever had to have a workplace like this in their life. It’s detrimental to your mental health and well being.
My manager (a WOC) enabled and empowered a tyrant of a white man who was abusive, intimidating, harassed me & others almost daily and was incredibly toxic. For 10+ years this man has been terrorizing our company. It’s spoken about frequently. There is nothing stopping horrible behavior anymore because corporations do not give a shit about us.
I used to lay awake at night thinking about it - then sometimes I would disassociate and completely detach- to the detriment of my personal life and mental health.
I wish I had answers for you. I tried to hang in there for years. But eventually you have to make a choice and do what you can tolerate.
There is no way to know what is in store. I like to think something better IS around the corner.
Keep your head down, the only way out is through.
For sure get everything down in writing, screen grabs and mark each one with a time stamp. Here are Ai meeting apps like Firefly that can record meetings and summarize notes and transcripts. If your company allows it you can record your meetings with her if/when she gets nasty. Or record on your phone so it doesn't show up in the meeting. Just one more way to protect yourself. Bonus points if you look into the company policy document and mark where she violated. Good luck.
