Need advice: how should I dress for an informal interview with the partner of the group I want to transfer into? It's going to be in the EY office

Dress with a blazer over it

like

What does that partner normally wear? I️ would mimic them

like

2nd the dress with blazer move

like

+ never over dressed even if you go suit and tie

like

Where a pant suit

like

If it were me I’d probably wear a sport coat but not a full blown suit.

like

Wear business casual + sports coat. Jeans if you want. The coat signals that you give a minor fuck but aren't desperate.

like

@ A1 I'm a girl

like

We have a jeans inclusive dress code so I feel like if I dress up in a suit I may stand out too much

This will be my first time meeting him in person

Dress well

What level are you? In general, wear what you’d wear to a formal client meeting. The best / more formal version of ‘normal’ you. I rarely see anyone below manager in a suit coat so wouldn’t expect that of a staff for internal interview meeting situation.

Suit and tie homie

You a guy or girl?

@ manager 2 I'm a senior

Wear your Halloween costume

Are you man, woman or other?

Oh sorry already answered

I'd do a nice skirt and a dressy top in a solid color, add heels. No statement necklaces.

I’ve been promoted with a title but not the responsibilities. I’m job searching and am primarily looking at postings that don’t include my promoted title — I’m not sure how to professionally articulate in an interview why I would be willing to take a “step down”. As I see it, I’m looking for a lateral move because I don’t actual have experience as a true “senior”.

There is an opportunity that I’m currently interviewing for that is very interesting to me. I’m interviewing two other places but I’m not responding to LinkedIn emails for other positions. The other positions don’t interest me as much. On one hand I don’t want to waste time prepping for all positions and rather put that time only for the ones that I have going on, on the other hand I feel like what is that falls through. Wondering if I’m making the right choice

Are private companies easier to work at than public companies in accounting? We have such an accelerated close deadline at the publicly traded company I’m at now, I really hate the inflexible tight deadlines and analysis seems to drag on forever after that. We also close AP/AR very early in the month yet that doesn’t stop payments/receipts from happening so we’re constantly adjusting our accruals until the end of month. Do private companies start their close after the month actually ends?
