New GM comes in. Acts like he knows it all. Sick of him tbh. Apparently we been doing everything wrong for years.

TBH the only way for you to know if that general manager is truly full of air or he is right referred to the company guidelines the company Code of conduct, the company standards if it’s in the books is legit and for a long time many places they’ve been doing things wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️

like

Hah. That’s way more common than you’d think. The new boss comes in, breaks everything apart and then says they are “improving and making everything better” - then after a bit, it’s a disaster zone… and someone has to clean it up…

We had a manager come in exactly like this. I was younger at the time and actually walked out of a shift because I couldn’t take them anymore. Constantly poking at everything that we were doing.

That's the way it always goes, someone new comes into a place and suddenly everything has to be done the way they did it someplace else. It never fails. A good question is why, if someone was shot a hotshot at their other job, are they no longer there.

Honestly I’ve barely ever had this because most managers I’ve worked with tend to either think if it’s working why change it or no point if it’s what they do .

Love it love when a new boss comes in with a massive ego. These people are such clowns. Like...do they not realize the restaurant wouldn't still be open if it was being run as poorly as they seem to think?

Took my first ever sick day today on account of my very poor and worsening mental health. Just could not bring myself to put in another 14 hour day with back to back meetings and constant activity. Felt very guilty but I honestly wish I could be more honest and actually share with my manager about why I took a day off.

For those also going through this, any tips on how you manage yourself day to day? What self talk tends to help?

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. On the weekends, same responsibilities but 7a-7p. We don't get any additional pay for being in charge and I'm sick of the added responsibility and stress of it.

I’m in a little of a pickle but a good one. Offer A. Established “start up” doing well financially and projected to hit profitability. 130k base. Stocks offered, unlimited PTO, and 70% Medical covered. Offer B. Is at a business much larger…90k salary with 10% bonus and generous stock offering. Titles are different which is why the pay is much different. I know some may think it is a no brainer but offer A allows me to grow the department ground up whereas offer B id be apart of to just different

Hi, looking for some advice. I’ve been a medical assistant for 10 years, and am finishing up my bachelor’s in healthcare management. However finding hard looking for practice or office manager positions, as they’re looking for people with 3+ years of management experience. How can I get an organization to take the chance to invest in me and give me the opportunity to prove I have what it takes. We all have to start somewhere.

Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.
