How can utilization encourage efficiency? I have a 30hr code and I finished the work in 5hr. If I charge 5, the write up gives credit to the partner and my utilization suffers.
Any other Deloitte folks get screwed in their year end rating because of low utilization since there were so few projects to be had earlier this year? Manager openly said it was "beyond my control".
New to FDD from audit. Any advice on getting utilization up? Frequently bouncing around on a deal two days at a time. Have the skill and talent to do great work, just need to show it
Consulting firms, how does your company use utilization as a performance metric? And what are your targets (e.g, Junior practitioners vs senior)
Why does Deloitte's utilization calculation take 52 weeks x 40 hrs as the denominator, what about firm holidays?
My utilization is below 60 percent and it's majority of internal projects and trainings but have good snapshots(reviews) should I still be concerned ?
Poll Question: which consultant would you rather staff or hire and why? A. Consultant who has worked with the same client for two straight years, above target utilization. B. Consultant who has worked with 8 different clients over two years, above target utilization.
Let’s discuss gender pay gaps by assessing our own discrepancies. I’ll start. I’m a 29 YO female, almost 6 years experience total, at a 115 base, guaranteed 126 if I meet utilization, with potential for more bonus. No target school or MBA. I’m happy with where I’m at, but are my male counterparts on here making more or relatively the same?
Utilization is a proxy for how busy you are. It isn't a metric for the impact you have on the client. #DeloitteConsultingTownHall
EY FSO is hurting. Don't expect a decent raise or bonus..regardless of your utilization or ratings ...
Never have I been able to charge more than 40 hrs on any project I have done (though I was expected to work more). Every day of bench and pto hurts my utilization 😭
Agency leaders my question for you is simple, what’s yo target metric for utilization of talent at your org? Talent being designer / developers / creatives.
What is adjusted utilization?
A&M folks - what is a realistic expectation for 1Y and 2Y at SA level in PEPI? Seeing offers at 130k vs B4 which is floating around 165k. Looking at TC at B4 with bonus being around 200k. I like the work & culture a lot more at A&M but base comp concerns me. We've all seen people flexing their bonuses but I'm looking for honest level setting (older w/ family) since you'd have to hit 50% to get close. Can anyone provide a little more insight? Maybe TC & utilization? Thanks! Alvarez & Marsal
Why do the big four keep hiring college students aggressively then fire them after a year for having low utilization. Why not just hire the amount you can actually staff
What if you could convert miles into monthly utilization? What would be the exchange rate?
I think we need to expand utilization metrics into audit sabermetrics. Monthly reports showing: Average expletives per audit Review notes per workpaper Average cry time per day What others are good?
Did a round of brand side interviews with a senior level team and want to write a thank you note that doesn’t come across too thirsty. What would a senior person appreciate in a note if they got one? They have all been there 10 plus years. Just thank for their times and reiterate what value I can bring to the role? Agency side is so lax I haven’t had to write one my last few jobs 😓
Does anyone here have any guidance or experience in moving from big pharma to VC-backed biotech/ med-tech/ next gen healthcare companies on the west coast? TIA Former consultant with 3+ YOE at 2 big pharma after my consulting stint. Now I am looking for something more exciting, with more ownership, more nimble and of course the equity upside. (Ps If you don’t have anything valuable to add, it is better to hold off on your opinion) Comp does not matter, due to my partner’s high income.
Any Deloitters can share a little bit on how the pension works? From what I see 401k is 25% match of 6% of salary. Then pension is 1.5% of base?
Would you rather stay in a niche that you’ve been doing well in, but you happen to find not too interesting, or try new areas and risk not doing as well? Ive been in pharma analytics for the last 4 years, receive good client feedback, good raises / promotion and have learned a lot. But I’m not sure if I want to continue in pharma long term.
If a client is being a pain in the ass can you transfer and ship their assets to the firm of your choice? Do you need their permission?
Hello Slalom Canada folks, Anyone willing to chat about Slalom's company culture and its niche/specialty here in Canada?
Let’s hear some stories of adversity and overcoming challenges. Socioeconomic, race, gender, disability etc. Work or personal. I think we all need some inspiration that we can overcome, no matter what.
Has anyone filed and had luck to expedite there refund from prior years by filling out form 911 - request for taxpayer advocate service assistance? If I do that, is that going to effect during any stage of the green card process?
What is the salary for s2 risk assurance in Los Angeles? Risk assurance not on the IT side. I might transfer from core to risk & wonder if I should see a pay increase.
Hi everyone, so I am in need of advice.. I want to pivot into Data Analytics or BA but I have no experience.. I am taking the IBM data Analytics cert on Coursera to build up my resume. As a hiring manager or decision maker what would you like to see in someones resume? What are some courses I would need to take? Or how can I stand out? Like SQL or Python courses in Udemy?
Should I stay till February until bonus is paid, and then leave for another firm? Am I entitled to the bonus (if there is one) for ht work I have done this year?
I know there has been similar discussion here recently, but how is WSGR PA Corporate's culture? I've been perusing forums and hear really conflicting accounts with some people saying that it's horrible, while others saying it's good. Also, there was talk on people leaving WSGR en masse to other firms (especially Cooly) and WSGR not being in the best place (although that was pre-covid and I guess things might have changed since then). Is it true that WSGR is/was declining?

Do any other firms have a policy that requires you to return to work for a certain period after paid parental leave, and if you choose to leave you are required to pay it back? If so, is there anyone who decided to leave before the end of that period? What happens if you can’t afford to pay it back?
