Option A or B?
A: cheap rent at a duplex close to work/gym/entertainment/groceries/downtown but not in a super safe part of town. ~750 sq ft older home with some annoyances
B: expensive rent at an apartment complex with pool/gym/gated parking but further from locations stated above. ~1050 sq ft 3rd story with no elevator

B is twice the price of A. My goal is to get engaged, married and purchase a home in the next two years so money is on my mind, but also want to minimize stress.

You lost me at no elevator. Go with A.

Sounds to me like you’re from a southern state. Pls confirm if that’s a fair assumption.

Go with option A as cash is on your mind. If safety is an issue, what can you purchase legally in your state to defend yourself in case of an emergency? Lol. Which I hope never happens to ya.

likesmart

No it’s not

smart

Is "not super safe" closer to "not the safest, but safe enough" or "not safe at all"? That will be the key difference.

likesmart

Lmao. OP, I hope the gunshots you hear are just a southern dude letting it rip for fun at some cans, as opposed to gangsters unloading clips on civilians. I’m from NY, if I were to hear gun shots (which I never do where I live), i know it’s on !

I am finally moving from my fourth floor apartment with no elevator after three years. It gets old quick. Especially when you have your hands full.

But I’d go with the place that gives me the better peace of mind. As long as I could afford then I’d be willing to pay more. I also wfh so I want a space I actually want to be in. If I was out more then it wouldn’t factor in as much.

like

That’s a good point! I wfh and option B would allow me an office space separate from my bedroom. I don’t mind my office in my bedroom right now, but it would be nice to have a separation.

Definitely A

Are you currently in a relationship?

Then I would go with B

I NEED HELP WITH CREDIT SCORE issues: Two months ago my credit score went down by 30 to 40 points due to dad missing credit card payment by a day (i got added to as authorized user on his credit card for me to build credit but now I’m filled with regret). I was devastated by it. This past month I have been making more payments and paid off my aug statement in full thinking it will boost my credit score. But I don’t know why it went down another 10 points. More below:

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

Hi ladies! I’m in my early 30s and haven’t never been in a successful relationship but would really love to have kids. I’m considering doing it on my own but terrified by a few things- effort, work, Indian community...

Has anyone done something similar?

I am 29F and earning 13LPA. I have been working for 4 years of which 3.5 years I had very low pay and close to 0 savings. I have been able to save 6L now.

My investments below:
* Elss funds - 2 (total 1.5L annually)
* Large cap mutual funds - 6 (total 40K sip per month) current portfolio of 4L
* FDs - 2 of 25K each
*Medical insurance - company provided

Can someone advice if this is a good investment plan for future? What can I do better? Do I need another Insurance? Where else to invest?

My wife often calls me by 5:45/6 to ask where I am if I’m not headed home yet. Sometimes she’s stressed with kids/dogs/dinner and really wants me home. This really throws off my concentration because it makes me feel rushed. Like many practices sometimes I’m out at 5:30, other times it’s much later. Just depends and is unpredictable. Any advice on how to approach this?

But light burbs? Srlsy? They are grown up people (fresh out of college girls)

I see two crowds these days. One thinks housing market will crash. The other thinks housing market will soar.

The contrarian in me makes me think this is a decent indication that housing market will stagnate (or increase minimally) for a few years.

As a general rules, I feel like the majority cannot foresee a crash/surge coming. The prevalence of such expectations would hamper the pre-conditions necessary for such a dramatic change.
