Question about solo/self-employed 401ks: If I create a sole-member LLC for a side business and create a solo/self-employed 401k, am I only allowed to make contributions from the earnings earned via the LLC? Or am I allowed to contribute money earned from a different source (ie W-2 job).

I make $101K base salary as a Consultant/Specialist at Accenture Federal in Washington, DC. My husband is a teacher making $55K. We’re getting by with our mortgage and regular student loan payments, but it’s not enough to do much else. We also want to start a family in a few years. What move could I make to hit $150K base? So many of you are making unbelievable amounts… I don’t know how to keep up.

I’m 25 and have found a duplex I’m considering purchasing as a rental property. Planning on renting both units and have the cash to make the down payment without an issue. I joined pwc last month, and absolutely hating it here. Each weekend has been working, 12-15 hours work day is minimum expectation. And there's extreme hierarchy, where even after you spend 24 hours working on something, the director decides he wants something completely different and you delete and restart. (Note that you request them to review and give their pov earlier on, but they never take the time out)

11-2 lunch and nap
2-3 : sometimes meetings, mostly begging people for billable work
3-4:30 - proposal work if I have it or more job hunting
5-9pm family time and dinner
10-3am - netflix, videogames, cry myself to sleep

First time getting a rental that's nicer than my car back home. Travel isn't so bad after all 🙏🏼
