It's pricey but the Herman Miller Aeron chair my go to for support. It's also super lightweight so not a pain to take up and down stairs if your office is upstairs at home.
You can sometimes get them for cheap from office liquidators- especially in Silicon Valley and NYC.
A steelcase Gesture model chair. It's probably one of the most expensive chairs on the market, but it really aligns you so well. I swear by it. It's a little bit over 1k, but it will last a life time.
I have a coworker with a lower spinal injury and he’s been using a stand up desk since the 90s. He said it took him 6 months to adjust to but can’t go back to chairs. He does keep a stool nearby to rest and one of those soft standing pads. Inspired by him, I switched to a stool and stand up desk. I do have an L4 herniated disc but I don’t have much issue with it since it healed — maybe because of the stool?
I would also recommend a standing desk. it's so much better for lower back pain - I found a lot of chairs on Amazon that provide pretty decent back support too but it takes a while to find them. I would try the standing desk first
I use the SteelCase Leap V2 and it’s fantastic. I have a quite the bad back and can sit on this with no issues all day.
Herman miller Aeron if possible. Embody if you need to share it…. Aeron comes in 3 sizes, I loved it more than my current embody. I changed only because my wife is size A Aeron and I’m size B. The mismatch caused us to switch to embody.
If you can afford HM, go for it.
This is the best of the 2nd tier:

If you’re short on funds or willing to try a temporary solution: Buy a lower back support pillow (on e.g.: Amazon) and make sure to stand up and stretch every hour or so.
Both made a world of difference for me.
Steel case leap v2. You will thank your back in the long run if you have a good chair. You can also find refurbished ones if new is too out of your price range
Just get a gaming chair, they are designed to keep you in them for hours at a time. Also, regardless of what chair you get, make sure to set reminders to stand up and stretch even if for 30 seconds a time. Your neck will thank you.
